I have a big personality with a gentleness, a touch that makes anyone feel comfortable but still professional. She has been in education for over 21 years, teaching most of her years in secondary education.

She graduated from a high school in Texas where she enlisted in the United States Army like her father. This allowed her to travel, and, like her military upbringing, she was able to learn more about diverse cultures and backgrounds. Whenin the army she attended college but focused on her music studies. She was selected and performed as a soldier for the 24th Infantry Division Band and Voices of Victory for the remainder of her time in service. She was honorably discharged, went to college, and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management Information Systems from Lamar University, in Beaumont, Texas, Antoinette went on to get a certification in Business Composite and started teaching career and technology education classes at Port Arthur Independent School District.

In 2010, Antoinette was elected as local president of the Port Arthur Teachers Association where she served for 8 years. She served on the Texas state board of education for 6 years. In both roles as president and board member, she was an advocate for teacher, student, and staff rights in education. These rights included mental health, self-advocacy, etc., These are still issues that in her future role in counseling she will tackle to bring healing to her clients and allow them to grow and be a better version of themselves.

Professional Goals

Antoinette would like to become a public speaker which would allow her opportunities to reach youth to not let personal problems and the pressures of growing up get in the way of their goals. She promotes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and would also like to incorporate it when mentoring students to encourage them in successful growing career paths.
